Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to Uganda
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where a guide from Muganzi Safaris will welcome you. After a short briefing, transfer to Kampala for relaxation after your journey.
Overnight at Cassia Lodge (Bed & Breakfast).
The lodge sits on Buziga Hill and offers beautiful views of Lake Victoria. It features comfortable rooms, a swimming pool, a restaurant, and a relaxing terrace.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, begin your journey to Bwindi. The drive is long but very scenic.
You will stop at the Equator crossing for photos and continue through rolling hills and farmlands. Lunch will be in Mbarara before proceeding to Bwindi.
Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Valley Lodge (Full board).
The lodge is located near the forest and offers stunning views. It is eco-friendly and provides easy access to the gorilla trekking starting point.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience
This is the main highlight of your safari.
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then be assigned a gorilla family and start your trek through the forest.
The trek may take a few hours depending on where the gorillas are located. However, the experience is worth it. You will spend one hour observing the gorillas as they feed, play, and interact.
Return to the lodge for relaxation.
Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Valley Lodge (Full board).
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey offers beautiful scenery and local village views.
Upon arrival, enjoy a short game drive as you head to your lodge. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.
This cruise is one of the best wildlife experiences in Uganda. You may see elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species.
Dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari Cottages (Full board).
Day 5: Rwenzori Marathon Experience
After an early breakfast, transfer to Kasese for the Rwenzori Marathon.
The marathon takes place near the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the “Mountains of the Moon.” It attracts runners from around the world.
You can participate or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere and scenic surroundings.
Return to the lodge later in the day.
Dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari Cottages (Full board).
Day 6: Return to Entebbe
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe.
You will have lunch along the way and enjoy the countryside views. Upon arrival, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
