Overview

This 5-day Uganda Shoebill, chimpanzee, and Gorilla Safari allows you to see the shoebill stork in Mabamba swamp, the chimpanzees in Kibale National Park, partake in a coffee and banana experience, and track gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day by Day Activities

Day 1: Pick up from the Airport, shoebill tracking, and transfer to the hotel for overnight

On your first day of the tour, your driver-guide will pick you from airport and transfer to your hotel. You’ll have lunch, then later head to the jetty and head to Mabamba swamp, a place well-known as the home to the shoebill stork. This gigantic nonchalant bird enjoys its stay in Mabamba swamp, as there are lung fish on which it feeds. After finding it, you’ll take pictures and watch it for a while. Then, you’ll head to the hotel for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park and Bigodi swamp walk

You’ll have breakfast on this day and then embark on a journey to the “Primate Capital of the World”- Kibale National Park. The park is home to 13 primate species, making it a primate lover’s paradise. You’ll have lunch en route, and upon arrival, you’ll check in at the lodge and then head out for the Bigodi swamp walk. You’ll see several primates like black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, and others, plus other bird species. You’ll also go for the coffee experience, where you’ll witness the coffee-making procedure. You’ll also witness the local process of making beer and gin from bananas.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You’ll have an early breakfast and then head out to the park headquarters. You’ll undergo a briefing about the chimpanzee trekking rules. You’ll be led by a ranger and guide to the forest in search of a chimpanzee community. After finding them, you’ll spend an hour in their presence and then return to the starting point for a brief period of relaxation. You’ll then head to the lodge for lunch, and then head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the home of mountain gorillas. Upon arrival, you’ll check-in the the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

You’ll have an early breakfast and then head out to the park headquarters with your packed lunch. You’ll undergo a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations. You’ll be led by a ranger and guide to the forest in search of the designated gorilla family in a group of 8. After finding the gorillas, you’ll spend an hour in their presence, taking pictures and monitoring their behavior. Then later, you’ll head back to the starting point. You’ll be rewarded with a gorilla trekking certificate, thanking you for participating in the conservation of gorillas.

You’ll then embark on a journey to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer back to Entebbe airport

On the last day of the tour, you’ll have breakfast at ease go for boat cruise at Lake Bunyonyi You’ll then pack your bags and embark on a journey to Entebbe with stops in Mbarara and kayabwe Equator for lunch and photography respectively.
