The 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Habituation Tour is all about immersing yourself into the dense rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in search for semi-habituated gorilla family. Unlike the usual gorilla trekking, habituation allows you to spend more time interacting with the endangered mountain gorillas in the wild. Guests are guaranteed of 4 hours to enjoy up close and personal with a family of mountain gorillas
Day by day activities
Day 1: Pick up, transfer to the park
You will be meeting your Uganda driver at the hotel in Kampala, get briefed about your gorilla adventure in Bwindi. Have insight into what you should expect on your trip and start your journey to this rich UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in the far Southwestern Uganda.
Set off from Kampala city to Bwindi, taking about 8-9 hours along the Masaka-Mbarara-Kabale route. Spots to consider for your stopovers en-route include the Equator crossing for photography and at the Igongo cultural centre, you will be offered lunch. En-route, you will be enjoying view of the countryside featuring the scenic rolling hills.
Day 2: Gorilla habituation excursion
Have a hefty breakfast at the comfort of your accommodation and you will be transferred to briefing region. Get to know the dos’ and don’ts from Bwindi National Park official who will be allocating the park guide to lead you through the forest in search for mountain gorillas.
This adventure includes a long day of following the semi-habituated gorilla group while observing how they behave, taking photos while in the wild. You will be allowed to enjoy 4 hours face-to-face with semi/unhabituated gorilla group. Get back to the lodge for a long evening relaxation, dinner and retire for a night.
Day 3: Departure from Bwindi NP for Kampala
A leisurely breakfast will be enjoyed at the comfort of your lodge and check out. Start your road trip back to Kampala/Entebbe city, and today marks the end of the 3-day trip.
