This 5 Days Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo tour takes travelers to explore mountain gorillas in Bwindi and other wildlife species in Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo. Bwindi harbors half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world. Queen Elizabeth National Park is the second largest national park among the most visited park on a Uganda wildlife safari. This is because of the rare tree climbing lions and being a home to the big fours mammals.

Day 1: Pick Up and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your Entebbe hotel or airport and a drive southwest towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for memorable photos and local crafts before continuing to Mbarara for lunch. Arrive at the park by late afternoon and, time permitting, enjoy a brief evening game drive across the savanna. Settle in at your lodge overlooking the park and unwind after your journey.

Day 2: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Embark on an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, famous for lions, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, and Uganda kobs. You will also visit katwe salt mining lake, Twin lakes among others. After lunch, take a scenic boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, home to large pods of hippos, basking crocodiles, and vibrant birdlife such as African fish eagles and kingfishers. Later, enjoy a leisurely drive back to your lodge while spotting more wildlife along the way. You will also visit local community for cultural dancing, and other experiences.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast, head to Kyambura Gorge/Kalinzu Forest for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience. Trek through lush forests listening to the calls of the wild before meeting a troop of playful chimps in their natural home. Afterward, you’ll transfer through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the way to Bwindi, this area is known for its tree-climbing lions.
In Ishasha, we will drive off in this adventurous vast savannah area with topis and African elephants and you’ll hopefully get the lions high in the fig tree branches. You will have lunch in Ishasha and continue with the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Here you will experience a change in the landscape from flat savanna, via cultivated hills to jungle covered mountains.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking and Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Have an early morning breakfast and proceed to the briefing point. Enjoy the highlight of your trip—gorilla trekking, which may last from 2 to 6 hours depending on the group you are visiting. We will trek through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a Uganda Wildlife Authority guide and other trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. Due to the nature of the activity, you will have packed lunch. After gorilla trekking, you will drive through the terraced hills to the savanna conservation area of Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 5: Early Morning Game Drive in Lake Mburo National Park and Transfer to Entebbe

After having an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. This park is famous for zebras, impalas, giraffes, elands, Cape buffalos and many tropical bird species. Checkout of the park and transfer to Entebbe with lunch en-route! But along the way, you will again make a stopover at the Equator line to have an authentic feel of standing at Latitude 00. From there, you will proceed to Kampala or Entebbe and to be dropped off at your point of call.
