Detailed 5-Day Itinerary

 

 

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe or Kampala

Touch down at Entebbe International Airport, where your Muganzi Safaris guide will extend a warm welcome. You will be transferred to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax after your journey or take an optional tour of Uganda’s vibrant capital. In the evening, you’ll receive a full briefing about the incredible adventure that awaits.

Day 2: Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early breakfast, we begin our scenic drive southwest to the legendary Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The journey itself is spectacular, winding through terraced hills and rural villages. Upon arrival, check into your lodge nestled on the misty forest edge, where the anticipation for tomorrow’s trek begins to build.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

This is the day you’ve been waiting for! After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Then, the adventure begins as you trek into the dense, ancient forest. Finding a habituated gorilla family is a magical and emotional moment. You will spend one unforgettable hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact. Afterward, receive your official trekking certificate and return to the lodge to relive the incredible experience.

Day 4: To Queen Elizabeth National Park for a Game Drive & Boat Cruise

After breakfast, we depart for the world-renowned Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy a thrilling game drive en route to your lodge, spotting elephants, buffaloes, and antelope. In the afternoon, embark on a famous boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a highlight for many visitors. This waterway is teeming with hippos, crocodiles, and spectacular birdlife. After the cruise, check into your lodge with the sounds of the African bush as your soundtrack.

Day 5: Final Game Drive & Departure

Rise early for a final morning game drive, offering a last chance to spot the park’s famous tree-climbing lions (in the Ishasha sector, if routing allows) and other wildlife. After the drive, we enjoy a final breakfast before beginning the journey back to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, filled with lifelong memories of Uganda’s majestic gorillas and wild plains.
