Overview
This 10-day Uganda wildlife safari takes you through some of the country’s most iconic parks and natural landmarks. From Murchison Falls and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, you will experience close encounters with gorillas, chimpanzees, and a variety of wildlife. Additionally, you’ll enjoy cultural encounters, canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi, and white water rafting on the Nile, making this an all-inclusive adventure for wildlife and nature enthusiasts.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Kampala City
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your English-speaking driver/guide and transferred to your hotel in Kampala. After a briefing about your safari, relax or explore the city’s historical landmarks, including the Kabaka’s Palace, Uganda National Museum, Namugongo Martyrs’ Shrine, and Kasubi Tombs (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Day 2: Kampala – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, drive northwest through the Luwero Triangle to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a white rhino tracking adventure. Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, stopping for lunch in Masindi Town. Upon arrival, hike to the top of the falls to witness the Nile squeezing through a 7-meter gorge before plunging 43 meters below—a truly breathtaking sight.

Day 3: Murchison Falls – Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise
Start with an early morning game drive in the northern sector of Murchison Falls, spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, hyenas, buffaloes, leopards, Uganda kobs, and a variety of birds. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls to see hippos, Nile crocodiles, and shoebill storks. Finish the day with an evening game drive focused on big predators before returning to your lodge.

Day 4: Murchison Falls – Transfer to Kibale Forest – Bigodi Swamp Walk
After breakfast, drive to Kibale Forest National Park, home to 13 primate species including chimpanzees, olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, and Uganda red colobus. En route, stop for lunch in Fort Portal. In the evening, enjoy a Bigodi Swamp Nature Walk to spot over 200 bird species, tree species, and primates while learning about local communities’ traditional life.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
Rise early for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale, spending an hour observing the primates and other wildlife. After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse ecosystems, the Kazinga Channel, and tree-climbing lions. Engage in a Kasoga community tour, learning about local dairy and cultural practices.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth NP – Game Drives & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Enjoy a morning game drive along Kasenyi Track, spotting buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, lions, hyenas, and abundant birdlife. After lunch, embark on an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, home to Africa’s largest concentration of hippos, crocodiles, and hundreds of birds. Conclude with an evening game drive focused on big predators.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth NP – Ishasha Sector & Transfer to Bwindi Forest
After breakfast, explore Ishasha Sector for sightings of tree-climbing lions. Continue the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Check into your lodge and relax for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Bwindi – Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After early breakfast, embark on gorilla trekking. Trek through dense forests and steep terrain to encounter gorillas in their natural habitat, spending one hour observing and photographing them. Afterward, receive your gorilla trekking certificate and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, canoeing, and bird watching.
