Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our Muganzi Safaris representative will greet you with a warm welcome and a refreshing drink. After a short briefing about your safari, we begin our journey west toward Kibale Forest National Park, Uganda’s primate capital. Enjoy the scenic drive through lush countryside and tea plantations.
Overnight: Ndali Lodge / Mantana Kibale Lodge (L, D)

Kibale Forest is home to an astonishing 12 species of primates and boasts one of the highest primate densities in the world. Join a guided trek in search of chimpanzees, red colobus monkeys, and other fascinating wildlife among towering trees that stretch up to 60 meters high. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, an excellent site for birding and more primate encounters.
Overnight: Ndali Lodge / Mantana Kibale Lodge (F/B)

After breakfast, enjoy one last forest walk before departing for Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, marvel at volcanic craters, rolling savannas, and scenic crater lakes. Upon arrival, embark on an evening game drive to spot elephants, buffaloes, and possibly lions before relaxing at your lodge overlooking the Kazinga Channel.

Start your day with a sunrise game drive across the Kasenyi plains to catch early risers like lions, leopards, and antelopes. After breakfast, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you’ll witness one of the highest concentrations of hippos in the world, as well as crocodiles, elephants, and an impressive variety of birdlife.

After an early breakfast, head to Chambura Gorge, a lush ravine famous for its resident chimpanzees and scenic beauty. Later, return for lunch and embark on another game drive through the park’s plains, where elephants, buffalo, and even elusive big cats may be spotted.

Begin the day with a guided walk through Maramagambo Forest, known for its caves, bats, and diverse butterfly species. Afterward, drive south through the picturesque Kigezi Highlands, often called the “Switzerland of Africa,” until you reach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

These two days are the highlight of your safari! Venture deep into the misty forests of Bwindi with experienced guides in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can last from 1 to 8 hours, but the magical moment of standing just meters away from a silverback and his family makes every step worth it. After this life-changing encounter, return to your lodge to relax and share stories around the campfire.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, one of Uganda’s smallest yet most beautiful parks, home to zebras, impalas, elands, and topis. Enjoy an evening game drive through the park’s rolling acacia woodlands and open savannas before dinner at your tented camp.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, one of Uganda’s smallest yet most beautiful parks, home to zebras, impalas, elands, and topis. Enjoy an evening game drive through the park’s rolling acacia woodlands and open savannas before dinner at your tented camp.

Enjoy one last morning game drive to spot early grazers and predators. Afterward, drive back to Entebbe, stopping en route for a scenic lunch in Mbarara. Upon arrival, relax at your hotel or take a stroll along Lake Victoria before your evening flight home.
