Detailed Itinerary

 

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your safari begins with a 7:00 AM departure from Kampala after breakfast. Enjoy a scenic drive to southwestern Uganda, passing through:

• Banana & coffee plantations

• Long-horned Ankole cattle farms

• Rolling hills and scenic landscapes

Stop in Mbarara for lunch before continuing through the beautiful Kigezi highlands into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park—home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before your gorilla trek begins at 8:00 AM. Equipped with packed lunch, drinking water, trekking gear, and cameras, you’ll enter the thick rainforest guided by experienced rangers.

Tracking may take 2–8 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements.

Witness unforgettable moments:

• Silverbacks guarding their families

• Mothers feeding infants

• Playful juveniles

• Close-up photography opportunities

After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation. For those with time, enjoy an optional Batwa community walk in the evening.

Day 3: Transfer from Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey to Lake Mburo National Park, home to:

Pass through Mbarara and arrive for check-in, followed by an evening game drive.

Enjoy breakfast before embarking on a boat safari on Lake Mburo, where you’ll spot:

• Over 300 bird species including the African fish eagle, crested cranes & storks

Return to the lodge for lunch, then start your drive back to Kampala. Stop at the Uganda Equator for photos and souvenir shopping. Arrive in Kampala in the evening.
