Wake up early, energized for the day of a lifetime. After a hearty breakfast, your guide will drive you to the park headquarters. Here, you will receive a essential briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers on the “dos and don’ts” of gorilla trekking.
Then, the adventure truly begins. Led by your ranger guide, you will hike into the dense, mystical “impenetrable” forest. The gorilla trek itself is an adventure, traversing steep, verdant terrain. The duration can vary from 2 to 8 hours, but the moment you hear the first grunt or see a massive shape moving in the bamboo, the fatigue vanishes.
You will be granted a privileged one hour to observe the gorilla family. Watch in awe as the mighty silverback oversees his group, mothers care for their infants, and juveniles playfully tumble in the vegetation. This intimate encounter is a humbling and exhilarating experience, offering unparalleled photo opportunities.
After your life-changing hour, you’ll trek back to the park headquarters to receive your official Gorilla Trekking Certificate. We then begin our journey back to Kigali, where we will drop you off at your hotel or the airport for your onward flight, filled with memories that will last forever.
